We, the founders of Be Rose International Foundation, initiated the idea of sponsoring the most vulnerable orphans, underprivileged children, and widows during the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. We started by using our personal funds for our projects, which included humanitarian initiatives to provide scholarships, educational materials, recreational items, food, and personal necessities to our beneficiaries.
As the demand for our services grew, we decided to showcase our foundation to the world to solicit more financial assistance. We wanted to ensure that these much-needed funds were getting to the right people on the ground instead of channeling them through government agencies or larger NGOs.
As an organization, we recognize the profound need to prepare individuals to be self-reliant and more accountable for their own well-being. We seek to motivate people by creating job and skill training programs that include seminars, motivational workshops, and agriculture education to prepare women and youth for sustainable development.
Our co-founder, Ndaneh Howard, an orphan herself, knows too well what it means to grow up without parents. Together with co-founder Rosaline Bangura, who also lived in a teen shelter and grew up without parents, they decided to create an organization to put smiles on the faces of orphans, underprivileged children, street kids, youth, the elderly, widows, and women in need around the world by offering physical, financial, emotional, and spiritual hope to those who need it most.
The name “Be Rose” represents the beautiful Rose flower. The sharp thorns represent the pain beneficiaries go through while the sweet fragrance and rose petals represent the beauty that there is light at the end of the tunnel. That your beginning does not define your ending.
Their mission: To give hope to children, women, youth, and people in need by educating, motivating, and providing charitable interventions one life at a time.
